No, FPH is not a virus. Antivirus software commonly flags game bots as malicious because they use the same techniques legitimate bots rely on — simulating keystrokes, reading process memory, and injecting inputs into a running game. These behaviors look identical to malware from the AV's perspective, even when the tool is completely safe.
This is called a false positive. It does not mean the file is harmful — it means the AV heuristic matched a behavioral pattern, not an actual threat signature.
The exclusion must be added before the file lands in the folder — otherwise the AV will scan and remove it again on the next write.
SmartScreen blocks executables that don't have a widely-trusted code signing certificate. This is expected for private tools like FPH and is not an indication of malware.
